Engagement and Rewards

There are a number of benefits and engagement schemes open to employees. Some of the benefits are based on salary sacrifice schemes which may have an affect on your salary and/or pension. Before choosing to join a salary sacrifice scheme you must fully understand the implications of such a scheme. For a summary of all of the employee benefits that NHSBT has to offer, click here. Alternatively, use the links below for further information.

As an ongoing initiative to thank NHS colleagues for their continued effort in the fight against coronavirus, many supermarkets, businesses and retailers are offering what they can in terms of discounts or extended opening hours for NHS staff.

NHS Employers

NHS Employers have put together a page which lists many of the offerings available to NHS colleagues during the pandemic period. Follow this Twitter feed for all the latest discounts.

Sustrans, the national charity promoting cycling and walking, has recently launched a new campaign called Cycles for Key Workers to make cycling easier for key workers as they travel to and from work during Covid-19. With support from the cycling industry, Sustrans have created an interactive map that shows cycling related offers and services available to key workers in their local area, including:

  • offers on cycles and equipment;
  • free and discounted repair and maintenance services;
  • free and discounted bike sharing schemes;
  • and the bike stores that remain open during the crisis

This single information point will be updated daily. It also features links to cycling and walking tips, and other useful information to keep key workers cycling safely.

Leeds Credit Union

NHSBT have partnered with Leeds Credit Union to enable all colleagues across the organisation (regardless of where you are based) access to their saving and lending services.

A Credit Union is a Financial Co-Operative which typically provides straightforward financial services such as loans and savings. A Credit Union is also a mutual organisation which means there are no shareholders, so it is owned and run by its members.

The benefit of NHSBT Partnering with the Credit Union is that rather than their services being restricted to a local area, we have been able to make it available to all colleagues in NHSBT. Also, the Credit Union will work directly with NHSBT payroll to set up hassle free payment plans.

To find out more about how Leeds Credit Union could assist you, please access their website or contact HR Direct.
